These Corner Country touchscreen kiosks are interactive visitor information hubs, purpose-built for use in remote tourism centres across the Sturt’s Steps Touring Route. Each unit is designed for ease of use, featuring bright, character-led visuals and a clear layout that engages visitors with safety information, maps, local stories, and videos. The content includes introductions to towns like Broken Hill, Milparinka, Packsaddle and Tibooburra, as well as sections on meeting the locals, learning about Sturt’s historic journey, and viewing important travel warnings. The kiosks help orient travellers, encourage safe exploration, and bring a modern, accessible layer to outback storytelling.
Integrated directly with visitcornercountry.com.au, the kiosks are connected to a central content management system, allowing remote updates across all locations. This ensures consistent messaging, timely updates on road and weather conditions, and easy management by visitor centre staff or volunteers. The responsive design supports video playback, audio narration, and interactive exploration, making it a valuable education and safety tool tailored for isolated regions where communication can be limited.
