Mannum Town Walk Interpretive Signage

Working with the Mannum Visitor Centre, we designed a conservative style town walk that encompassed 3 different walks in Mannum. This includes both signage and a brochure. Signs were placed around the town in different locations and included 3 colour styles.

Mannum Historic Walks offer a chance to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Mannum, South Australia through three distinct trails. The walks, known as the Randell Walk, Shearer Walk, and Arnold Walk, each focus on different aspects of Mannum’s past, from the pioneering work of William Randell and the Shearer Brothers to the legacy of Captain Arnold. These walks are a great way to experience the town’s history while enjoying the scenery.

Key Features of the Mannum Historic Walks:

Three Distinct Trails: The walks are designed to be self-guided, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace.

The Randell Walk: This walk, approximately 2.5km and taking about 90 minutes, focuses on the life and work of William Randell, the visionary behind the first paddle steamer on the Murray River, the Mary Ann.

The Shearer Walk: This shorter walk, about 40 minutes, highlights the history of the Shearer Brothers, their agricultural manufacturing business, and their inventions.

The Arnold Walk: The longest of the three, the Arnold Walk delves into the life of Captain Arnold and his contributions to the paddle steamer industry and the development of Mannum.
